Moments of stillness contrast with passages of movement as the aspect of illumination washes over a moonlit landscape… Such is the atmosphere on Synphaera Artist Martin Stürtzer’s new album, Illumination Cycle.
Eight tracks created in his studio in Wuppertal, Germany, Martin’s detailed, improvisational approach brings a captivating blend of neo-Berlin School sequencing and deep-time ambience to create an atmospheric journey on the path to illumination.

DYSON SPHERE ALPHA

Improvised with hardware synthesizers, the music for Dyson Sphere Alpha was recorded during livestream events in early October 2021 as part of Martin Stürtzer’s “Stay at Home” online concert series. Each track unfolds over time to create a hypnotic interplay of ambient soundscapes and Martin’s signature sequencer work.
THE STELLAR WINDS

“The Stellar Winds” is a new album by Martin Stürtzer presented as a limited edition cassette tape. Side A contains three slowly evolving and atmospheric Dub Ambient pieces that are crafted by analogue drum machines and synthesizers. For the first time Stürtzer uses the TB303 in his music. On Side B two long ambient tracks unfold their magic, where rhythmic structures of bass sequences meet fluttering LFOs. The album closes with the meditative “Muon Density” which contains field recordings from the German Black Forest.

This liveset moves between Dub Techno and Ambient Techno and was recorded live on June 6th during one of my online concerts. I decided to release it as one track instead of re-recording them one by one because I like how the sounds flow and blend into each other.

Martin Stürtzer returns with the first dub techno EP of 2021. The four tracks dive deep into endless cascades of echoes, pulsating sub-bass, shifting pads and analog chords.

In 2020 Martin Stürtzer started the “Stay at Home” online concert series in which he played improvised sessions from his studio. The shows got the attention of over 100,000 viewers who experiences Martin´s unique approach to Ambient, Berlin School sequencing and Dub Electronica.
Following the acclaimed albums “Farcaster” and “Far Beyond the Stars” Martin starts 2021 with “Temporal Anomaly”.
The album features seven compositions for synthesizers and sequencers. The CD album version contains the bonus track “Tachyon”, previously released on the digital release “The Omarion Nebula”.
SPHÄRE SECHS – BETA PICTORIS

Beta Pictoris is the fifth album that Martin Stürtzer and Christian Stritzel recorded as Sphäre Sechs. They pulled off an improvisational online concert played from two cities and gathered material in preparation for this event. Their approach to record music only during improvised studio sessions with a large set of analog instruments lead to this space ambient transmission.
The timbre of this album is inspired by the Exoplanet Beta Pictoris. It is one of the first Exoplanets that were discovered by humans. Its position was assumed by analyzing the shift in the spectrum of its sun and later visually confirmed by an European observatory.
